Chemical Dependency Counselor

Don received his B.A. with honors from the University of Michigan and his Masters degree from the University of Southern California. In addition to his certification as a Chemical Dependency Counselor, Don is also a California Board Certified Teacher and Nationally Board Certified Group Facilitator. In 2002, he created and implemented the Literacy in Treatment program, which offers adult clients in recovery the opportunity to earn their high school diploma. In addition to his work at Of One Mind, Don also serves as the Director of Admissions & Media Relations  for a dual-diagnosis residential treatment facility for women.  His media credits as an expert recovery professional include: “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart,” “Good Morning San Diego,” Fox News Networks, “The Michael Jackson Radio Show,” “The Associated Press,” “Extra!,” the “TV Guide Network,” John Wells Productions and several other local, national and international platforms.  His print and author credits include:  “The Los Angeles Times,” “The New York Times,”  “The Wall Street Journal,” and “Life & Style.”  Currently Don is pursuing his Ph.D in Media Psychology with a specialization in chemical dependency.
